Marcia Harvey
Marcia Harvey is an African-American
authorwho is more well-known for being the ex-wife of the comedic legend and
television host Steve Harvey. She decided to keep her personal life a secret
and out of the spotlight. Steve was not able to attain the fame and fortune
he's currently enjoying, however they had been married 14 years. The actual
reasons for the couple's split weren't known, and there have been rumors of it
being heard in Hollywood. Some attribute it to Steve Harvey's unsavory behavior
as well as others to his decision to choose to pursue a different path in life,
such as comedy. Steve Harvey separated from his two daughters while she was
pregnant with their third child, causing her to feel devastated. Despite all
her hardships she's managed to build an impressive career out of fashion design
as well as writing. Her books include 'Marcia Eyes To The Soul', 'Marcia: Poems
From The Heart', and 'Marcia: Thoughts From My Mind'. Her kindness and
generosity is now an inspiration for her children. Marcia Harvey was raised in
an African American family and isn't financially secure. She began working for
the department store "Saks Fifth Avenue'. She became acquainted with Steve
just a few years later at a reception for a mutual friend's party. They became
a couple and were married in the year 1980. Steve was an insurance agent at the
time. The couple were blessed with twin girls in 1982. Steve was already
disillusioned by his job and wanted to make a go of it as entertainer,
particularly stand-up comedy. He and Marcia were unable to get together and
later reports suggested that they had been living apart since 1990. Much of the
fame that Marcia Harvey enjoyed stemmed from her marriage and divorce from
Steve Harvey. While their divorce proceedings in 1994 were kept secret however,
it is evident that Marcia Harvey was expecting their third child at the time
they fell apart. Marcia eventually filed for divorce on March 23, 1993. After
the divorce, and Steve Harvey's refusal to pay alimony and child support, Marcia
was forced to approach the law.
