Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on
August 26 2002. He is known as Lil Tecca. The song he released in 2019
"Ransom", was his breakout hit. The song peaked at number 4 in the
Billboard Hot 100. The song was featured on his debut mixtape , We Love You Tecca
(2019) which peaked at the top of the pile at 4 on the US Billboard 200. It
also contained singles Love Me and Did It Again. His first studio album called
Virgo World (2020) was released at #10 on the Billboard 200 and included the
Billboard Hot 100's top-charting tracks "Dolly" and "When You
Down". The mixtape he followed "We Love You Tecca 2", was
released in August 2021. It featured "Repeat It" as well as "Lot
of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe is the child of Jamaican immigrants.
He was born on August 26, 2002, in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was born in
Queens in Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe later relocated to Cedarhurst in
Long Island. At a young age, Sharpe had aspirations of being a part of the NBA
however, at the age of 12 Sharpe began to turn his attention towards pursuing a
career in music. He completed his studies at Lawrence High School. Tecca was
just nine years old age when he started rapping over his Xbox. They would
occasionally berate each other. One was uploaded to SoundCloud several years
ago, however it was later removed. When he was a child, he didn't have any
plans to make a career in music and instead dreamed of becoming an NBA star.
Through his middle school years However, he began to lose interest in
basketball and started taking music seriously. His first track to gain some
popularity, "Tectri", was composed in collaboration with his friend,
Lil Gummybear, and it was released in the early part of 2017. Some of the
tracks he was working on include "Callin". Tecca's career took off
one year later, with the smash single "Ransom", which was uploaded to
Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd the 22nd of May,
2019. The track reached the top spot at number 4 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
It has received over 900 million Spotify plays and more than 300 million
YouTube views.
